Group Chat
Shaun Remele
Whether you are an easy going college student or a workaholic CEO, being able to connect with the world is essential to today’s lifestyle. There are plenty programs available that are designed specifically to help you tie your world together; no matter what the distance, or volume. All designed with a focus on video and text group chat, programs like AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), Google Chat, Yahoo Messenger, and Skype help connect the world from one end to the other. But, for now, let’s focus on the program that I personally recommend: Skype.
Skype, a favorite among many other college students, offers free video, text, and audio chat with other Skype subscribers. As a free service, for the basics, Skype offers a large package of benefits for international calling and chatting. Besides being a great service for talking to family back in Europe, Skype is a great service for business partners to connect and share plans. With Skype’s unique “screen share” feature, you can easily display information from one desktop to another without the aggravation of sending files in proper formats or downloading unwanted programs for viewing single files (or, if you’d rather, just go ahead and send the file right through Skype!). Skype, as a favorite of many, is certain to please your group chat desires.
Skype for your Smartphone is a great application to have. If you want to keep your phone bill down, or if you’ve run out of minutes and want to make calls without those leg-pulling prices, Skype for your iPhone is the way to go. With affordable non-contracted rates, you can make the calls you need to make. Or, you can continue using the free features like video chat and text chat (depending on make and model of the phone used.)
So, there you are. Everything you need to know about Skype. If you don’t have it yet, go out and get it! Connect your world today.
