Yahoo Messenger revolutionized instant messaging since its inception 12 years ago. Millions of users depend on YM on managing their contacts, send text messages and keep updated on news around the world. Some features like a personalized avatar, photo sharing and live chat kept a legion of its loyal users from using the application.
Throughout the years, Yahoo continuously developing the Yahoo Messenger to cater the needs of its users, now with its latest version, Yahoo Messenger does not only offer Instant Messaging. It also offers high-quality videos and voice calling via PC to PC.
Offline messaging was also introduced by letting users receive messages even if their contacts are not signed at the time. Contacts will receive the messages once they go on line.
Mobile phones nowadays are also equipped with YM. These allows them to use the applications whenever they go, enjoying the same features as the PC such as checking of and replying on email and sending text messages. Mobiles users also have a chance to play games by clicking the games icon. This feature requires Java to work.
Yet Yahoo is an indispensable application for on-line users, still these users are not free from unsolicited messages. These left frustrations from its users as Yahoo failed to address the problem properly. Last 2007, an estimated 60% of users who use chat rooms are web robots. Up to now, users face the same problems and Yahoo has done little on stopping the problem which created inconvenient human users.
